The Empowered Woman

The Empowered Woman
The Empowered Woman, she moves through the world
with a sense of confidence and Grace.
Her once reckless Spirit now tempered by Wisdom.
Quietly, yet firmly, she speaks her Truth without doubt or hesitation
and the life she leads is of her own creation.

She now understands what it means to live and let live.
How much to ask for herself and how much to give.
She has a strong, yet generous heart.. and the inner beauty she emanates truly sets her apart.

Like the mythical Phoenix, she has risen from the ashes and soared to a new plane of existence, unfettered by the things that once that posed such resistance.

Her senses now heightened, she sees everything so clearly.
She hears the wind rustling through the trees;
beckoning her to live the dreams she holds so dearly.
She feels the softness of her hands and muses at the strength that they possess. Her needs and desires she has learned to express. She has tasted the bitter and savored the sweet fruits of life, overcome adversity and pushed past heartache and strife.

And the one thing she never understood, she now knows to be true, it all begins and ends with You. ♥

THIS POEM IS AMAZING -- thank you so much for posting it. I have rarely believed there are coincidences in this life and today is, most assuredly, no exception. I have read and shared other writings as well on my Women's Philanthropy -- Women's Issues blog. I have believed for some time now that what is of interest to me is, undoubtedly, of interest to all. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but I assume I am not unique. From what I consistently read, there is a common spirit among many sisters that is fostered by the essence of the essence of this poem. When I am 'moved' and/or impassioned, I share what has that impact on me on my WPWI blog -- which has turned out to be something that extends beyond the 'traditional' sense of philanthropy. But, if genuine 'philanthropy' does not begin in the heart, can it be 'philantrhopy?' Insofar as I am concerned? I think not -- ergo, this wonderful poem fortifies my spirit. Again, my heartfelt thanks, Stephanie Doty

While I am not the complete picture of the woman this poem captures, I know I am well on my way. Thank you for posting!

The poem is wonderful, powerful and beautiful and the art is also wonderful, powerful and beautiful but the two do not go together.
The woman of the art is young and lovely- the Maiden.
The woman of the poem- definitely in the Crone ballpark.
It takes time and some wrinkles, stretchmarks, some physical imperfections to hit the level of peaceful confidence of the poem.
Just one old broad's opinion.

I am grateful for this poem, The Empowered Woman by Sonny Carroll. The synchronicity of its appearance here at the time I needed to read it and reaffirm what I know as truth, amazes me. Like deep, energizing, and inspiring breath, I am breathing it in, and gratitude floods my soul.
Thank you,

Don't you think you can have crown energy & still be pretty like the woman in the picture? Yes...we all are beautiful. .Maybe the point was missed when the end says IT ALL STARTS WITH YOU!

The Artwork that goes with these poem symbolizes the feminine energy. To react from an indignant attitude because the woman in this picture would not be old enough, does not really show an attitude from the Crone energy.

We are here te learn from each other so lets do that. The images we choose are there to emphasize the underlying message. The empowered Women looks behind all the drama that can be created, to not lose sight of the 'core' message.

This poem is deep and speaks to our heart. We can feel the Power of this Artwork, we don't need to look like the woman that is presented here to feel her strong powerful feminine energy. This all goes far beyond looks, age or anything else..

Blessings to all!
