Ode to our Ancient Sisterhood

Ode to our Ancient Sisterhood

 By: Jan Porter

Jan: This fine collection of images came together as I was writing the first draft of my novel manuscript: Soul Skin.
Enjoy!

One Community; One Spirit. OM home is where the heart is, a sacred alignment with the divine and each other. OM, God, Creator or Allah, is that divine life force that exists beyond our day to day consciousness. It is a wise, intelligent and unconditionally loving force that lives within all animate and inanimate life forms. It unites us all through ancient sisterhoods and transcends all cultures, religions, philosophies and schools of thought.

Within each of us there is a naturally evolving powerful force of intuition, a wise consulting soul compass that when followed, flows divine inspiration, passion and creativity. An individual's spiritual journey is as unique as a finger print and holds no ties to one faith, path, cultural ideal, modality or era. Yet, it is our individual and connected spirit that ultimately, when we open our minds and allow that divine love to flow, makes us 'One'. In spiritual growth, we come to know this divine force, interconnectedness, find our own unique authentic wild nature and for many, consciously choose to forgo a traditional lifestyle for an authentic life journey.

Each soul's existence adds to the beautiful tapestry of the cosmos. One woman is a tiny divine spark in a timeless sisterhood tapestry collective; all of us are Wild Women. Life is a series of defining moments, cross roads and gateways as each door closes and new ones open. Always, all ways follow the heartbeat of your own soul, which is the path of most light and love.
And so it is.

Love and Blessings on your journey

Happy Solstice Full Moon June 23th, 2013

      Welcome Sisters! (and Brothers!)
.. to our Wild Woman Sisterhood Full Moon Guidance

      Happy Solstice Super Strawberry
      Full Moon June 23th, 2013
FULL MOON “SuperMoon” in Capricorn is occurring two days after the Solstice! We must keep on truckin  ~developing our Inner Strength~ Feeling our truth ~and expanding our perceptions. Here are the Astral Insights from MYSTIC MAMMA from the most tapped in readers of the planetary bodies..
“The earthy Capricorn Full Moon on June 23 awakens the need to build your inner strength and security. The stronger you are on the inside the more you can achieve in the world. The Capricorn Full Moon requires you to become stronger in the face of chaos and confusion. On the one hand, the Capricorn Full Moon can promote your plans, projects and initiatives. You can be motivated to achieve your goals.  On the other hand, if you do not have a reservoir of time and energy. You may not feel ambitious. You may feel overwhelmed and tired. Your best strategy would be to rest and restore.”

“This  Capricorn Full Moon is more than going inward (Cancer) and taking on the world (Capricorn).  Spiritual Neptune is a forming a rare Grand Water Trine to make it real Saturn, the Sun and the Moon. This illuminates both your personal and public needs to serve Creator. You can make your dreams real. You are to align your vision with your current reality. You are a great spiritual being having a human experience.  You are in life to do more than build safety and security. You are on Earth for your soul evolution. This means you are to expand consciousness. You are to raise our vibration. You are to live from your heart and in joy–enjoy.”

“Saturn is Capricorn’s ruling planet. Saturn is in a supportive relationship to the Full Moon. You will feel self-disciplined to get things done. You will want to take care of business. You can balance your emotional needs with your sense of duty and obligation. For instance, you are aware of your feelings. Yet, you do not allow them to overwhelm you. You can be careful and thorough in your approach to any kind of work now. You may feel ambitious, efficient and patient.”

“…The key phrase that describes the Sun in Cancer is “I Feel.” The Sun in Cancer encourages your nurturance, protectiveness and sociability. The dark side of Cancer is being moody, emotional and argumentative. However, Saturn in supportive relationship with the Sun can empower you to work through your serious issues and any situations you need to confront. Saturn gives you the strength to deal with difficult people. Perception is everything. Look at what you have instead of what’s missing. See all that you are instead of what you’re not. Satisfaction can then be realized.”

“Jupiter is coupled with the Sun in Cancer at the Full Moon. Jupiter enters Cancer on June 25 and will be there until June 16, 2014. The presence of the giant planet of knowledge and understanding in this subjective sign is a signal for you to seek truth in your feelings. Jupiter in Cancer will expand your views, especially as you focus on women, family, food, and Nature. Jupiter represents faith and abundance. Jupiter’s dark side is prejudice and overindulgence. Jupiter in Cancer could take your emotions to the extreme. Yet feelings are neither right nor wrong. Feelings are your guidance system to reveal how you are responding to life.”

“…Anything you do to avoid your feelings is an escape…Thus, when you do not listen to your feelings, depression can emerge.  But depression is not the enemy! Depression is your ally. Depression shows you that you are overlooking something very important.  Life is not about being happy all the time. There will be challenging cycles that require you to “face the music.” Feelings show you where you need to make changes. The body is your messenger.”

“…The Capricorn Full Moon is the second of three SuperMoons, when the Moon is both closest to the Earth and in a straight line with the Sun and Earth. That alignment makes this an extra powerful Full Moon.  A few hours after the Full Moon, the Moon runs into powerful Pluto and unpredictable Uranus. Pluto teaches you about power. How you get power. How you keep power. How you give your power away. You are to own your power. You are to stand for yourself in a manner that is both definite and appropriate. Be open to make needed changes and to think differently. The cosmic message for the Capricorn Full Moon is that with hard work and discipline, you can make your dreams come true. You can be practical and have high ideals. However, you may need to make adjustments along the way.  Be flexible. Be adaptable. Own your power. Build your strength.”

Wild Woman Sisterhood Short Meditation Guidance

At the full Moon, the energy builds and builds.. there's an explosive outgoing aspect to it. All of nature grows and is more vital at the full Moon. This surge allows you to take action on behalf of those new Moon intentions you set two week prior. A full Moon ritual might involve taking one solid step, with a symbolic action. And it can be a powerful time to release, cast out, unburden yourself, purge, etc. You celebrate your emergence by stepping out of an old skin, identity, behavior, attitude, relationship. The ritual helps you by marking this inner transformation in a formal way.
It is a Wonderful idea to keep a MoonJournal. If you do this, you get a change to recognize patterns. More and more we'll see how strongly we are connected with the Moon and her cycles.

Here you find: "By The Light Of The Moon"
Full Moon Ritual guided meditation with Lilian Eden

*Please ensure all devices are turned off*
      *It's a guided meditation *
*Letting go and allowing yourself to have a new experience without judgement, make your desires known and know that it will be so. A great opportunity to manifest that which you would like. A beautiful addition, another way to communicate your desires to the universe, like the dream board.

      What's this video/meditation about?

The ancient art of manifesting has been known to the Native American Indians for centuries. All over the world, several native groups have understood the power of a full moon as they continue to engage in this long-standing tradition past down from their ancestors. They understand how best to utilize the full moon's energetic force and other worldly secrets naked to our rational minds. Studies have been conducted in several countries focusing upon such esoteric rituals like full moon rituals: Results have astounded many in the western scientific community who reported upon the way in which everything manifested/unfolded- a direct result of such a ritual (moon rituals).

Lilian Eden: an internationally renowned Metaphysician, Workshop Leader and Author, has studied the processes of full moon rituals and its effects in different settings across the Southwest and Europe. What she has learned and utilizes herself today is now being passed along to you. This powerful and engaging Cd will open a world of possibilities allowing you to become more active in your future. An opportunity exists toward a fresh new way to look at your life and the world around you.

      ==============================

We wish you all a Blessed Full Moon experience

See you again on our Next Full Moon: Monday 22th of July 2013
Looking forward to connect with you all again!

      World Wide Solstice Full MoonCircle

      Happy vibrant Solstice June 2013!

The solstice heralds the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and Winter in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2013, the Solstice falls on Friday, June 21 at 5:04 Universal time, which is 1:04 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time and 12:04 A.M. Central Daylight Time.

As we are heading towards Full Moon, this sunday June 23th, this is a beautiful moment to celebrate and connect.. Put those flowers in your hair, lets light our fires and dance :))  In our next World Wide Solstice Full MoonCircle

The word Solstice is from the Latin solstitium, from sol (sun) and stitium (to stop), reflecting the fact that the Sun appears to stop at this time (and again at the winter solstice). In temperate regions, we notice that the Sun is higher in the sky throughout the day, and its rays strike Earth at a more direct angle, causing the efficient warming we call summer.

The Summer Solstice is the day with the most hours of sunlight during the whole year.
Ancient pagans once celebrated the summer solstice as a day of healing and fertility.

But why leave all the fun to the Ancients? Solstice celebrations persist to this day. Here are a few ways that modern people celebrate the sun.

      Ways to celebrate:

Seek fulfillment from your life. The summer solstice heralds the beginning of summer. This also represents the time of fulfillment. This is an excellent time to take stock of your life and assess how your goals and aims are going. From the year's earlier New Year's resolutions to the big goals in your life, ask yourself how you're doing in achieving these things for yourself and others you care about.
      • Are you still aligned with your goals or have you strayed from them? Take this opportunity to reinvigorate them and to make any necessary changes to achieve your aims in life.
Sit outside and connect/meditate. This is a good way to get connected with the sun and nature.

Start looking for a new job on this day if your current one is not fulfilling to you. Start looking around to see what is available that you would be keen to try. If you need more experience, training or information, make today the day you begin overcoming such obstacles so that you can start doing what you really want to do.
      • Consider starting a gratitude journal if you haven't already done so. Try to recognize all the good and wonderful things in your life, to help you better notice fulfillment when you feel it.
      • Be honest with your goal appraisal––set aside those goals that aren't taking you in the direction you want to go now. We all grow and change over time; make sure you're not hanging onto goals that no longer fit the person you have become.
Consolidate your energies. The stability of summer and the promise of balmy, warmer days ahead is considered to be a time to develop yourself, to set yourself free and to nurture yourself. As the crops begin ripening, this is a time for self-maturation and for consolidating your energies. Take the easier nature of summer as a reason to make greater efforts to realise your goals, to refresh your home (perhaps a new layout, maybe even a new home), to readjust your nutrition intake and to find an exercise that you really click with rather than doing one everyone else is doing.
      • Start a new diet today using the fresh fruits and vegetables of summer as your base. Don't just see it as a "diet" though; use this opportunity to align your thinking about food to one that involves eating more greens, more locally grown foods, more organic foods and less processed foods.
Renew your wardrobe. If you haven't updated your look in a while and your clothes are beginning to show signs of age, take a fresh look at your wardrobe on the summer solstice. Are those clothes still representative of who you are now? Are those clothes showing you to your best advantage or are they letting you down through ill fit, out-of-date style or simply poor choices? Send the unwanted clothing items to the charity store, a friend or to the rag bag, depending on their quality. Then add some new items that make you feel great and that helps you to shine and radiate.

Consider flexing your healing muscles. Herbs and flowers picked during the summer solstice were believed by people in medieval times to carry healing energy above and beyond any normal healing properties. While we'd nowadays consider this to be scientifically doubtful, you can still honor the sentiment by growing your own herbal medicine garden during summer and learning more about using plants to heal minor injuries and illnesses, such as scratches and headaches. There are many good books about using plants for medicinal purposes, such as National Geographic's Guide to Medicinal Herbs (2012), which details what does––and what does not–– really have healing properties.
      • While growing your herbs and veggie garden, remember to thank the pollinators. Summer is a time of high pollination because so many trees and plants are flowering. And yet, in recent years many bees have suffered from disease, in particular colony collapse disorder, threatening the future of pollination by bees. Find out all you can about what is being done to protect bees and give bee keepers who practice natural, organic and chemical-free beekeeping your support. Also think of all the other pollinators, including the much despised mosquito, all doing their part to ensure delicious food reaches your table.
      • Other ways to flex your healing muscles include deciding to learn more about a healing technique that has interested you for a while, such as therapeutic massage or acupuncture. Why not go along to a session to try a new healing therapy for something that ails you, be it stress through to pain? Alternatively, if you would like become a practitioner in healing arts, look for courses that you can take.
Throw a party with a bonfire. A bonfire is part of the tradition of the summer solstice. Fire has always been a source of protection for human beings, scaring off the beings of the night, both real and magical. Nowadays you can reinvent the bonfire as a great reason to hold a summer solstice party with friends. Just be sure to choose a location where it is both safe and permitted to burn a bonfire––check with the local authority first. In some places there will a fire ban due to the dry conditions, so make plans to have a party without the bonfire if this happens.

Honor the sun. If you enjoy doing yoga, there is a set of exercises known as the Sun Salutation or Salute to the Sun which you can perform. These exercises are intended to exercise both your body and your soul, balancing both in harmony through both meditation and physical movement in one. Begin this exercise on the morning of the summer solstice and aim to make it a daily habit from this time on.

Run free and Wild like the Wolf

          A Message for All Women
          by Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Run free and Wild like the Wolf
THE wildness of the wolf is not readily apparent in the easy manner of Clarissa Pinkola Estes, a cheerful, soft-spoken woman who wears a red ribbon in her hair and a medal of the Virgin Mary around her neck.

"Mary is a girl gang leader in Heaven," said Dr. Estes, who has ordered the lunchtime special of meat loaf and mashed potatoes. "She is fuerte -- strong, fierce. We have been given this cleaned-up, Anglicized version of her. But the saints had calluses on their hands."

It was here in a quiet neighborhood bar and grill that Dr. Estes, a Jungian analyst for 20 years and a consummate cantadora, or storyteller, spent her afternoons writing "Women Who Run With the Wolves," a book that was scarcely reviewed after publication but has become a best-seller.
In the book, Dr. Estes has interpreted old tales in ways that merge Carlos Castaneda with Bruno Bettelheim, from Bluebeard to the Little Match Girl, that reveal an archetypal wild woman whose qualities she says have today been dangerously tamed by a society that preaches the virtue of being "nice." Like the wolf, pushed to the brink of extinction, the innate powers of womanhood have been driven deep within, she argues, but they can yet be summoned as tools in a fight for survival.

Dr. Estes found the wolf-woman parallel while studying wildlife biology, especially wolves. "Wolves and women are relational by nature, inquiring, possessed of great endurance and strength," she writes. "They are deeply intuitive, intensely concerned with their young, their mate and their pack." She also writes: "Yet both have been hounded, harassed and falsely imputed to be devouring and devious, overly aggressive, of less value than those who are their detractors." A Savage Creativity

Dr. Estes defined wildness as not uncontrolled behavior but a kind of savage creativity, the instinctual ability to know what tool to use and when to use it."All options are available to women," she said.  "Everything from quiescence to camouflaging to pulling back the ears, baring the teeth and lunging for the throat. But going for the kill is something to be used in rare, rare, rare cases." She smiled and took a sip from a diet soda.

"Women who have always been taught to be nice do not realize they have these options," she said. "When someone tells them to stay in their place, they sit and stay quiet. But when somebody is cornering you, then the only way out is to come out kicking, to beat the hell out of whatever is in the way."

While she urges a liberation for women, Dr. Estes cringes at the label of feminist. "No Latina woman would be called Ms. -- that's an invention of middle-class Anglo women," said Dr. Estes, who was born to Mexican parents and adopted by immigrants from Hungary in rural Indiana. "Latina women are proud to be called Mrs. That simply means that we have a family."

She added: "The soul has no gender. I wrote a book about women because I am a woman. If I were a man, I would have written about that." The knowledge of the inner self comes mostly from hardship, Dr. Estes said. People with money and privilege have a harder time "making the connection with the natural self," she said. But Dr. Estes, who is now writing the second volume of a planned "Wolves" trilogy, said she did not believe that her own success would get in the way of personal exploration.
"No chance of that," she said. "Want to see my scars?"

          Wild Woman Sisterhood.. so far

little more insight into Wild Woman Sisterhood
Wild Woman Sisterhood is looking for You!

This is the moment for us to Go for it!

Wild Woman Sisterhood is a beautiful project that inspires and Connect Women World Wide. WWS has a Higher Purpose. We started this project on January 15th 2013 and it is a succes since day 1! This world was asking for us. Our Higher Purpose is to make women (and men), who lost their inner connection, Aware of their wild nature again. To connect with our most Pure Divine Being.. to connect with each other, to share and communicate this to our environment and so we will pass this on to our future generations.
          We repeat Gandhi's words:

We Must Be the Change We Wish to see in the World.

We believe you have found us and are touched by us, because you recognized yourself. Maybe you believe in our Vision as much as we do and you where searching for more like minded people. Sisterhood! We believe that lots of us where looking for this for ages. True Sisterhood! Well, you have found us! And we make an effort to connect us all together :)

Wild Woman Sisterhood has a Vision
This is not just any Vision, but one that is Awakening, inspiring, Loving, powerful and Wild!

We believe that Wild Woman Sisterhood therefore stands out among the millions of women organisations. Many women want to connect but are tired of the boring everyday soap operas, classic finicky little women talk that ultimately primarily goes about others, external beauty, to get high paid jobs, fasion, our prosperity in inanimate stuff etc. These are all subjects that may seem pleasant to fill our days with, and yet these subjects do not lead us to a truly fulfilling life. Fill gaps with empty content leads to more emptiness. That's why WWS makes an effort to inspire the world with ways of living that caters to the well-being of our entire existence.

Lots of women who find us, -feel relieved! To finaly find something online that is truly empowering. We are connecting and inspiring in a fulfilling way and give change to share and being able to let everything go that is ultimately meaningless. We want to investigate deeper layers of ourselves, really make contact with each other and nature and share stories that are empowering and worthwhile to share. We want to Listen and learn from our Elders and share Ancient Wisdom, learn about Rituals, Rites de Passage, the Stories of the Earth, de deeper meaning of dance, music and our creative sites, how to grow our own food and Experience Oneness with Nature and all living Beings.

We want to walk on Bare Feet, feel the Earth and let her feed us, let the wind play with our hair...

           responsible adult choices

When it comes to luxury we want to make responsible adult choices. We don't want to buy an ordinary fabric made jacket, bag or piece of jewellery but we want to make it ourself from things that we find that mean something to us, or -if we buy one- we prefer to choose for a handmade organic article that radiates from good energy and in addition, is fair traded and carries a vibrant Spirit. We want authenticity in a way that meets a sustainable way of living and everything that passes in the process. That is what we want to pass to our children, to live in wholeness and to Be whole! And by living in wholeness, we will make choices in Wholeness. How can we ecpect our children to participate in Unity as we are showing them a blank inanimate world that is Spiritless? So lets inspire each other! Once this consciousness is stirred up, there is no going back.

Lightning in a Bottle is not just an art and music festival. LIB is really about being a catalyst for change; for triggering transformation in peoples lives so that we all may have a more positive impact on the world. For 5 days of magic we gather together to create, celebrate, smile, and love in a space that elevates the connection and wonder our everyday world often lacks. And we’ve heard many stories now about how the space Lightning in a Bottle creates changes peoples’ lives in beautiful and powerful ways.

We have heard stories about people meeting, falling in love, and getting married. People discovering the creative spark to leave a corporate career and embark on a life the produces sustenance from art and independence.  Or people finding creative partners for new endeavors that take them on journeys they never thought possible. Transformation. From the normal to the beautiful. From the broken to the mended. From the dull to the shining brightness of a new dawn.

          Medicine Women

          Medicine Women
When the general public thinks of Native healers and "physicians", the words "Medicine Man" seems to naturally fall out of their mouths. Guess what? This is another situation where there was no gender bias, and there were just as many Medicine Women as Medicine Men.

Each Nation, tribe and village had medicine people; whether male or female was of no consequence. Children who were born with the gift of healing were taken by the medicine person as a young child and taught healing ways. They were taught to recognize the healing plants, trees, roots, berries and wild herbs. They were taught how to make poultices, teas and other healing foods.

Medicine Women were the local psychologists, therapists, physicians and marriage counselors. In some tribes, the Medicine Women were given the responsibility of making the warriors' shields for it was believed that she had special powers that would give those war shields added protection for the owners.

The practicing of medicine ways was a full time job for the responsibility for the well-being and emotional balance of the villagers belonged to the Medicine Woman. In return for her services, she was cared for by the members of the village. She always had food, shelter, her needs met, assistance when it was needed, and special spirit gifts that showed the honor and respect of her people. This was how the Medicine Women were "paid".

The art of being a Medicine Woman has not been lost. There are more practicing Medicine Women alive today than ever before using the same old natural ways combined with the new technology that has been developed. There are herbalists, naturalists, aroma therapists, massage therapists - those who teach spirituality, awareness, meditation skills - and on and on. The Medicine Woman continues to care for her family and loved ones with all the tools available to her so they can walk in balance, and live life in health and harmony. May it ever be so. Aho.
